Vic: Fire destroys one house, damages another two
MELBOURNE, Feb 20 AAP - Fire destroyed one house and damaged two adjoining homes in
Flemington in suburban Melbourne today.
The Bryant Street fire started at 11.45am (AEDT) and caused damage valued at about
$250,000 to one house and slight damage to the neighbouring homes.
Metropolitan Fire Brigade Inspector Ron Darby said the fire started at the rear of
the house and spread to the roof. Rubbish underneath the house also caught alight, spreading
to the floorboards.
He said about 25 firefighters were hampered in their efforts to extinguish …
