Qld: Beattie stands by his man

Queensland Premier PETER BEATTIE is standing by his embattled former health minister
.. despite mounting pressure to sack him over his conduct during the Dr Death scandal.

Mr BEATTIE has refused to dump GORDON NUTTALL from his new position as primary industries
minister.

He says Mr NUTTALL has done nothing wrong .. and has refused to cancel Mr NUTTALL'S
visit to South America this weekend .. which the opposition says is a junket.

The Davies report into Queensland's public system has labelled Mr NUTTALL as misleading
.. unreasonable and careless.







The report came about over the case of JAYANT PATEL .. an Indian-trained surgeon dubbed
Dr Death .. who's been linked to the deaths of more than 80 patients at Bundaberg Base
Hospital.
